Privacy Policy

Vessel ("the app") is developed by Keep It Mindful. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

The short version

Almost everything about the app stays entirely on your device and is never sent anywhere. The one exception is the optional "Get a Coaching Prompt" feature: when you deliberately tap that button, some of what you've written about that specific project is sent to our server to generate a personalized response, then discarded. Nothing else in the app works this way, and this only ever happens when you explicitly ask for it.

What's stored, and where

Everything you enter into the app (life areas and projects, self-assessments and Vessel history, actions and check-ins, attention logs, ideas, saved links, notes to yourself, and your profile photo) is saved locally in the app's private storage on your device. None of it is transmitted to Keep It Mindful, to us, or to any third party, except as described below under "AI Coaching Prompts." There are no analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs in this app.

AI Coaching Prompts

The "Get a Coaching Prompt" feature (available from a project's "Feeling Stuck?" screen) is optional and only activates when you tap "Get a Coaching Prompt." When you do, the app sends the project's name, your stated want and outcome, what you're currently doing or not doing, known obstacles, your chosen values for that project, and whatever you typed in that moment, to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic (the maker of Claude) to generate a response. That response is shown to you and is not stored by us afterward.

This is the only feature in the app that sends any of your data off your device. It never happens automatically or in the background, only when you tap that specific button.

Permissions the app may ask for

Calendar — only if you choose to add a committed action to your calendar. Used solely to create that event; the app does not read your existing calendar.

Photos — only if you choose to save a generated Vision Card image, or add a photo to your profile or a Vision Board note. The app only writes the image you create; it does not browse or read your photo library beyond what you explicitly pick.

Notifications — only if you turn on reminders (daily check-in or Attention Check nudges). These are scheduled locally on your device; no push notification service or server is involved.

You can decline or later revoke any of these in iOS Settings without losing access to the rest of the app.

Backups

The app includes an optional manual "Back Up My Data" feature, which lets you export your data to a file of your choosing (for example, saved to iCloud Drive or Files). That file is created and stored by you, in a location you choose — Keep It Mindful never receives a copy.

Multiple profiles on one device

If more than one person uses the app on the same device, each profile's data is kept separate on that device. Deleting a profile (from Settings) permanently deletes that profile's data from the device.

Children's privacy

This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected in an updated version of the app or this page.
